Anschutz Issues Air Rifle Cylinder Recall

Rifle manufacturer J. G. Anschutz has issued a recall notice for air cylinders on their pre charged pneumatic air rifles. The cylinders in question were manufactured prior to December 2005 and may have material defect that could lead to sudden failure at the manometer or the filling valve and cylinder union. At 3000 pounds per square inch, that could lead to serious injuries.

Cylinders in question are the following models and serial numbers: Silver, length 430 mm, serial numbers 012947 to 016846, item number 711.3415; Red, length 430 mm, serial numbers 002444 to 002542, item number 711.3414; Black, length 430 mm, serial numbers 000006 to 000053, item number 711.3413; and Junior, length 290 mm, serial numbers 001632 to 002225, item number 711.3412.

The numbers are engraved on the air cylinder. If you or any of your customers have a silver, red, black or junior air cylinder that matches one of the numbers, Anschutz asks the cylinder either be returned to Anschutz GmbH & Co. (KG, Abt. Kartscheunuberpfufung, Daimlerstrabe 12, 89079 Ulm/GERMANY) or an authorized Anschutz sales partner in the United States (listed on the Anschutz website, www.anschutz-sporters.com ).
